IMRT

Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is a highly specialized form of conformal radiation therapy. Is a technique that allows for greater precision in the application of treatments, by adapting, during the treatment session, the shape of the radiation beams to the shape of the tumor to be treated. To do this, several small beams of photons of varying intensities (which can block parts of the treatment field) are used to precisely irradiate a tumor.
